Happiness and how i found it…

I think the journey to happiness starts with awareness. Being aware of what your purpose is, what your passions are, what genuinely sparks a joy in who you are.

It’s when your life aligns with your values, morals and being around people who hear and see you.

I think there are a number of factors which can affect happiness meaning you are able to find it and more importantly keep it.

I don’t think i’ve felt as happy (deep down) as I have in recent years. I think at a younger age it easier to be influenced, to compare or to do things just because the people around you are doing them. until I built a stronger mindset, real happiness was something I felt rarely.

Living in a world which lives on screens it is becoming increasing harder to feel inner peace and genuine happiness. We live in a world of consumerism, comparison, worrying that you’re 10 steps behind when really, you are exactly where you’re meant to be.

Happiness slowly came my way when I started to change, firstly when I stopped being so afraid of change leading to me trying new things, enter new phases of my life and become more awake in my current life I was living.

It’s easy to think of things which can make us angry, stressed, worried, anxious along with many other negative emotions. Just because It’s easy, doesn’t mean we should do it. See our thoughts are who we are, they decide how we feel and what kind of day we have.

You wouldn’t expect the best day ever to come when your mind is full of thoughts which get you down. This is why change is necessary, becoming aware of the fact that if you try to actively change your thoughts, you can probably in turn change your days to be filled with more positivity and doing this consistently will change your life.

It sounds simple and honestly in some ways I think it is. I always imagine the people I enjoy meeting, what they’re like, how they present themselves, how they speak and how passionate they are and this is the kind of person that I want to be.

When you allow yourself to find contentment in normal day to day life, you allow yourself to feel peace, and happiness without a reason sometimes. Because there shouldn’t HAVE to be a reason. Being alive is a good enough reason, being able to wake up and spend our lives how we wish is a pretty cool concept and one in which should be enough to create a sense of joy.

I think some people forget sometimes how incredible it really is that we are alive on this planet, in this universe. When forgetting this it’s easy to fall into thought patterns, habits, negative self talk that isn’t good for us, mentally and physically.

Now I’m not say there isn’t a day when I open my eyes in the morning and feel a little bit meh, but through constant learning and gratitude, this feeling never lingers. Because no matter the day, no matter what’s happened, how tired I am, how much my body may hurt From training, I’m still so flipping happy to be here.

The world is a beautiful place and I’ve seen things that I only ever thought existed in disney films, but i’ve seen them, with MY own eyes. I have met so many happy people who live to spread joy and kindness, I have a family that supports me in every aspect of my life and there is food on the table and running water. Even if there wasn’t I believe I could find the things I needed to still be grateful because this is our time, it’s our one chance. Why would we waste the one time we have being anything but kind and anything but appreciative.

It’s a blessing to be alive no matter how crazy I sound, it really is.

I think when you’ve been through tough times, when you’ve felt like there is no way out, like there is no point yet still you fight your way through, a level of gratefulness uncovers itself which couldn’t have been found otherwise and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

It’s important to focus on what you have, not what you lack. ‘Wanting’ creates an unhealthy relationship with desire, learn to not need anything but be thankful for everything.

Good things will enter your life when you remove the things which were never meant to occupy that space in the first place.

Go to lengths to find out who you are deep down and don’t ever step away from yourself again. You deserve everything you work for and you deserve a happiness which will only be given to yourself from yourself, nobody else has the ability to create that happiness for you.

Sending Love,

K.
